Rahul Gandhi: A Pretty Face

Indian icon Rahul Gandhi claimed ‘he has no time for marriage’ but he would like to be the next ‘Prime Minister’!!!! That’s a million dollar question. His recent visit to his constituency ‘Amethi’ was a talk of the town. The reason is not Rahul alone but the fact that his sister Priyanka drove him in her jeep to Amethi. Very impressive gesture!
Priyanka who has the qualities of a leader inherited from her grandmother ‘Indira Gandhi’ withdrew from political front to promote entry of her brother Rahul. But the fact is …does he have the qualities and natural knack to be a politician?

Rahul, of course has been trying to learn all tricks and tradesand turns and loops before plunging into politics. Rahul however lacks the zing to influencing people with his un-intelligent talks….. He doesn’t seem to have in-depth knowledge of places, people, politics of the country or the management skills to handle such a vast population but he did get the taste of power of being a political figure in so many years of training. Perhaps he will not part with it under any condition.

His speech in Pune University and Jharkhand village were unimpressive and with no concrete substance. So to compensate he is doing tricks like ‘Cycling in Delhi (Oct ’10)’or making statements like

“Make Jharkhand government your own. If the government does not listen, I will support you and open the doors of our organisation," he said.

All Indian PM were intellectuals and had good command over the subject they chose to address public in meetings and we took pride in their abilities but the future looks bleak with the thought of Rahul taking over as a PM of India? The emerging superpower of global stage where the other super powers are feeling lost and threatened by its success?
Well! I think Rahul is good as a symbolic figure to collect young voters count for his party but hope better sense prevails and the party decides to have a Chanakya to take our country forward and not bring shame when India is making its way through continuous progression.
Rahul plans to get married to Sridevi, a pretty face from film industry and of course it matches best with his persona.

Its about time that Indians should let go off Gandhi dynasty and look for new intellectuals who can shoulder the responsibilities of a such a huge nation. We need a PM who can stand boldly to face the challenges of other diminishing super powers.
